Circulation Services

Circulation Services Department of the ADA University Library comprises the activities around the lending of library books and other materials to users. A circulation department is one of the key departments of the library.

The main public service point is the circulation desk, which is located on the entrance floor. It provides lending services and facilities for return of loaned items. Renewal of materials is also handled at the circulation desk. Circulation staff may provide basic search and reference services, though more in-depth questions are usually referred to Reference Librarian at the library reference desk.

Functions of the circulation desk staff include:

  • Lending materials to library users (books, magazines, journals, audiovisual resources, etc. and for on-site use - headphones, pens, pencils, markers, rulers, flash drives, converters, USB drives are also available at the Circulation desk);
  • Checking in materials returned;
  • Monitoring materials for damage and routing them to the appropriate staff for repair or replacement;
  • Troubleshooting circulation technology, i.e. library circulation software, scanners, printers etc.;
  • According to students’ requests making reserve of Study Rooms for group studies for a stipulated time;
  • Collecting statistics on library use, i.e. patron transactions, material checkouts etc.
